Titanium sits at 6 on the Mohs hardness scale — harder than gold or platinum. It’s roughly 50% lighter than most alternatives, so it feels almost weightless on the hand. The black PVD finish is bonded at a molecular level, not plated on top — it won’t peel, tarnish, or react with skin. David bought one for his son’s 16th birthday: “It’s very well made. The iridescent groove shifts from blues and greens through to purples and golds depending on the light. Against the matte black titanium frame, the effect is subtle but unmistakable. It sits at 6 on the Mohs hardness scale — harder than gold or platinum, though not as hard as tungsten. Over time, titanium develops a soft satin patina of fine surface marks, but these can be polished out. The PVD black coating is bonded at a molecular level rather than plated on top.
