Tungsten carbide sits at 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one below diamond. The black PVD finish is bonded at a molecular level, not plated on top. It won’t scratch from everyday contact, won’t bend under pressure, and won’t tarnish from moisture or skin. Both the 6mm and 8mm use the same tungsten carbide base with PVD coating — a vapour deposition process that bonds colour at a molecular level rather than plating it on top.
