THE DETAILS
Tungsten carbide sits at 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one below diamond. The black PVD finish is bonded at a molecular level, not plated on top. The red groove is sealed into the surface, protected by the same coating. A single red groove runs through the black tungsten band. It’s a clean, deliberate detail — enough to set the ring apart from a plain band without being loud. Why Tungsten Lasts
Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials used in jewellery — 9 on the Mohs scale, one step below diamond. It won’t scratch from everyday contact, won’t bend under pressure, and won’t tarnish from moisture or skin.
The black finish is applied with PVD coating — a vapour deposition process that bonds colour at a molecular level rather than plating it on top. The same process used on luxury watches.
