THE DETAILS
Tungsten carbide sits at 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one below diamond. The gold PVD finish is bonded at a molecular level, not plated on top. Stephen from Gillingham replaced two high-street gold wedding bands that scuffed and lost their plating. His Paradox: “Have had the ring a little over a week now. Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials used in jewellery — 9 on the Mohs scale, one step below diamond. It won’t scratch from everyday contact, won’t bend under pressure, and won’t tarnish from moisture or skin.
The gold finish is applied with PVD coating — a vapour deposition process that bonds colour at a molecular level rather than plating it on top. This is the same process used on luxury watches. It won’t peel, fade, or react with skin.
