One below diamond. Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials used in jewellery — it won’t scratch from keys, tools, or everyday contact. The silver and red finishes are bonded at a molecular level using PVD, not plated on top, so the colours won’t peel, fade, or tarnish. Why Tungsten
Tungsten carbide rates 9 on the Mohs hardness scale — one below diamond. It’s approximately ten times harder than 18-karat gold. Under normal daily wear, it won’t scratch from keys, tools, gym equipment, or anything softer than a sapphire.
It’s also one of the heaviest ring materials available — nearly the same density as 18-karat gold. That weight is something buyers notice immediately. The Flame feels solid and substantial on the finger — nothing like a lightweight fashion band.
Tungsten won’t rust, tarnish, or corrode. The PVD finish bonds the silver exterior and red interior at a molecular level, not painted or plated on top. It won’t react with skin. Nickel-bonded tungsten carbide is hypoallergenic — the nickel bonds so tightly with the tungsten during manufacturing that it loses its ability to cause a skin reaction.
